Ten years as a personal travel consultant has given me good insight to what the traveler needs to know before making their own travel plans. These articles will help you to choose your destination, hotel or the right cruise ship for you. I try to write articles that tell you why I liked something and why I didn’t. What I didn’t like may be why you will like it. I report and you decide if the place sounds like you. It is my desire that everyone experience a fun vacation. I love to travel and I want you to enjoy it too.

Through my consulting years I met a couple who absolutely hated cruising; they had been on three different ships with their friends and still did not like it. After talking with them I told them they had been on the wrong type ships for them. I convinced them to try one more time on a ship I recommended. They loved it and are now always on the look-out for sales on their type ship which by the way turned out to be the small luxury cruise ship. Have you ever had your neighbor tell you about their fabulous fun filled vacation, so the next year you take your family there, only to come home all disappointed because you didn’t think the hotel was so great and the island was ugly and there was nothing to do? Obviously, as we all tend to do, you did not pay attention to the details and relate them to your family. Are your kids in the same age group and like to do the same things? Are your neighbors as active or inactive as you are? Is your home landscaping similar? Or is your yard cacti and their yard full of trees? Ugly Island Pretty Island!

Be honest with your self about your likes and dislikes. Be honest with your travel agent when she/he is asking questions, they are also helping you to choose a vacation suited to you,so you won’t be disappointed. In particular, if you are booking yourself on line with out any guidance, except the pretty and sometimes misleading pictures, reading articles on this site can help you. Look before you book.
